The following list provides a sample of some of the successful results Mr. Ellis has obtained for a broad range of clients including, individuals, state agencies, and companies alike:

  • Obtained summary judgment in highly publicized federal civil rights claim in favor of state employees. Prior to this result, the opposing party was demanding $1,000,000.00 for settlement.
  • After establishing the court lacked jurisdiction to enforce a money judgment entered against a fast food restaurant chain (prior to retaining The Law Office of Robert H. Ellis, P.A.), our client ultimately settled the claim for a small fraction of the amount claimed.
  • DUI Cases: Obtained not guilty verdict and suppression of evidence in cases where clients had submitted to breadth tests and a field sobriety test.
  • Initiated counter claim against creditor for failing to comply with notice provisions of Sec 679.612 Florida Statutes. As a result, creditor settled civil suit against client for one half of the amount claimed and agreed to remove the claimed debt from our client's credit reports.
  • Obtained summary judgment in federal employment action under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VII of the U.S. Constitution. As a result, the agency was able to settle the federal case with a companion workers' compensation claim for an amount acceptable to the agency.
  • Obtained worker’s compensation award at trial of case for injured worker/client that severed his fingers while working for a contractor that wrongfully denied the client was an employee. As a result, the client was provided with over two years lost wages and medical benefits that had been wrongfully denied by his former employer.
  • Obtained judgment of acquittal at trial in favor of mother wrongfully charged with child abuse. After hearing argument that the evidence failed to support the charges, the court agreed that the mother’s discipline of her child was not abusive.
  • Obtained judgment of acquittal at trial in favor of client wrongfully charged with cruelty to animals. After hearing argument that the evidence failed to support the charges, the court agreed that there was insufficient evidence to prove the client was guilty of abuse and dismissed the case.
  • Appeared on behalf of local restaurant before the Duval County Value Adjustment Board and obtained favorable reduction of proposed property taxes.
